FAQ

Because of how the roll feeds through the printer, each print job starts with about 15 - 20 cm of blank film. To get the most out of your roll, we recommend printing multiple designs in one continuous job, or printing longer designs. The blank section doesn't have to go to waste either: cut it off and reuse it on the flatbed for smaller prints.

Yes, this is normal. The shaft under the feed roller has a textured surface that adds grip and keeps the film from slipping during printing. If the film feels stuck while threading, adjust your threading technique and it should feed through smoothly. See the Quick Start Guide for step-by-step instructions.

Make sure the roll is installed as shown in the Quick Start Guide. Push the roll all the way to the left, then pull the film through the film sensor, the feed roller, and the output roller. Finally, slide the stopper firmly against the right edge of the film. This keeps the film aligned throughout the print.

Keep the attachment upright when installing it into the printer. Turning it upside down can knock the roll out of position and cause the print to fail. When loading the roll, simply place it on the roll supports and push it gently into the compartment until it sits steady. There's no need to force it.

After each cut, the finished print should fall away from the cutting slot on its own. If a print gets stuck at the slot, the next print may be cut on top of it, which can jam or damage the cutter. Make sure the area around the output slot is clear before you start printing.

Foil prints use a soft white ink, so the surface stays slightly tacky after printing. This is expected. During long or continuous prints, avoid letting finished pieces stack on top of each other, as the foiled areas can stick to other prints and get damaged.

We recommend placing a clean tray or box outside the output slot. During long, continuous prints, this catches each piece as it's cut and keeps your prints clean, instead of letting them land on the desk or floor.
